The self-proclaimed National Council for Old Age (CNaV), created in December 2021, is launching the first Counter-Exhibition of Old Ages in Paris, Halle des Blancs-Manteaux, from November 17 to 19, 2023.

A living room which sells nothing, promises nothing, but offers everyone the opportunity to debate, for three days, subjects that fascinate or concern them.”according to the magazine Ehpadiaa magazine, but also a website and a webTV, to find out everything about news about EHPADs and retirement homes.

The program of this an anti “Seniors’ Lounge”: housing, nursing homes differently, access to culture, access to rights, women and old age, our place and role in society, the meaning of age, death, generations…

According to Guy Carrier, one of the initiators of the CNaV: “The Cnav stands as a citizen movement, in the same way as all the struggles that have crossed our society: feminism, LGBT minorities. It is not a movement which defends corporatist interests, but which must allow us to imagine how the elderly remain actors in society, while being respected in their expectations; which can be summed up as: aging by being yourself until the end of your life. We are not a union which campaigns for revalorization pensions or salaries of employees in this sector, even if these are important subjects.”

“It is the role of the CNaV to raise awareness, to show the discrimination we experience and the expectations we have. We no longer want spokespersons who speak for us: #RienPourLesVieuxSansLesVieux.”

Guy Carrier, founder of the counter show and the Gray Pride association

The CNaV is a citizen movement which is gradually spreading throughout France (more than 2000 supporters). Its objectives are to mobilize “Old and Old People” throughout the territory, so that they become actors in public policies that concern them.
