The annual collection of food donations from Restos du Cœur began on Friday March 1st. Until Sunday, 8,000 volunteers, present in 7,500 supermarkets, will be waiting for you in a collection which is crucial for the organization.
In the four corners of the country, solidarity is expressed at the entrance to supermarkets. Les Restos du Cœur is calling on the generosity of customers for their annual collection. In a supermarket, many people are there to help those most in need. All weekend, the association’s volunteers will be on deck. Most have been involved for many years. These three days of collection are crucial for the association.
1.3 million people welcomed last year
It collects on average 12% of the year’s in-kind donations. “Without this collection, we cannot help the people we welcome all year round. From April onwards, the shelves are empty so without the collection, we cannot go until next winter’s campaign”, explains a volunteer. The Restos du Cœur hope to collect 9,000 tonnes of donations throughout the country. Last year, the association welcomed 1.3 million people.
