Hubert Lenoir was the most rewarded artist on Wednesday at the Premier Gala de l’ADISQ, hosted by Pierre Lapointe, at the MTELUS. His three victories in the evening were added to the prize he had already received at the Gala de l’industrie on Sunday.

Nominated in ten categories in total, Hubert Lenoir, who released the album pictura de ipse a year ago, received four Félix awards: Album of the Year – Critics’ Choice and Album of the Year – Alternative, International Collaboration of the Year (for his duet with Bonnie Banane on the song October) and arrangements of the year.
“Music does great things,” he commented on receiving his last award of the evening, about his collaboration with Frenchwoman Bonnie Banane. “I have so much admiration for you and you are the raw material with which I work when I’m in the studio,” he said, when accepting the award for best alternative album, to all those who had worked on his album, on stage with him.

Behind the scenes, after his victories, he also stressed that his collaborators were “also part of the industry” and that he wanted to show, by having them on stage, that his album was a team effort. “That’s how I work,” he said. Crowned four times, Hubert Lenoir says he receives his awards with pleasure, but with nuance. “I would still have done the same thing without all that,” said Hubert Lenoir, who knows that his next record, like pictura de ipsewill surely be “completely different” from the previous ones.
Patrice Michaud, Half Moon Run, Laura Niquay, Jay Scott, Naya Ali, Bon Enfant, FouKi and several others were also rewarded on Wednesday.
Pierre Lapointe at the animation
For the fourth year, singer-songwriter Pierre Lapointe has put on his host outfit.
As he often does, taking advantage of his platform, Lapointe allowed himself a few editorial comments during his presentation.
I’m worried. I have been a singer for over 20 years. And for 20 years, the cost of living has risen quite a bit. But the price of tickets for Quebec shows is the same.
Pierre Lapointe
He admitted to fearing he would lose viewers if he raised his prices. But a ride to Justin Bieber’s latest show, when his seat cost $250, made him question the value of tickets to performances by local artists. “It means that the world is ready to move,” he noted at the microphone. “For the price of a ticket for Justin Bieber, I can go see eight Quebec shows, which will move me and entertain me like the good Justin. “ To the amateurs of shows, Pierre Lapointe launched an appeal, by affirming to be afraid for the succession and fear of not being able to make shows any more: “Come to see us in the rooms. »
Pierre Lapointe also took part in the musical component of the gala, performing with Marilyne Léonard, “un coup de coeur”, the songs To thwart boredom (from Lapointe) and Boats (from Leonardo).
Several named artists took the stage for musical performances. The opening number, which featured Clay & Friends, Koriass, Afrikana Soul Sister (winner Album of the Year – World Music) and Marieme, got the show off to a good start.
Martha Wainwright and Salomé Leclerc have joined their incredible talents for a touching number. Armed with their guitars and their sublime voices, the two singer-songwriters shone. Cellist Julia MacLaine and rapper from Quebec City Souldia (winner of the rap album of the year) also took the stage for a duo of a completely different genre, but just as hard-hitting.
The week of celebration of Quebec music ends on Sunday with the main ADISQ gala, hosted by Louis-José Houde.
