Fires – Laure Manaudou evacuated from her house: another blow

The situation in Gironde finally seems to be stabilizing after a week of dread and destruction at breakneck speed. The equivalent of the city of Paris and its inner suburbs went up in smoke in just a few days and thousands of people lost everything in just a few seconds. A native of the region, footballer Mathieu Valbuena saw his campsite ravaged by flames. Living in the Arcachon basin, Laure Manaudou and Jeremy Frerot were also victims of the fires. “Yesterday, from the path leading to my house, I saw the flames of the forest, it was getting bigger and that night, we had to evacuate, there was too much smoke, it was unbearable”said the 32-year-old artist to Parisian a few days ago.

Evacuated from their home, the parents of two children could only see the damage in recent days and they have been very active on social networks to relay information about the fires ravaging the Gironde. This morning, they had to face a new blow… Indeed, one of their favorite places was ravaged by flames, as Laure Manaudou indicated on her Instagram account. “My favorite restaurant went up in smoke”writes the 35-year-old former swimmer in her story this morning.

So strength to all this team, and all those who lost their place

Indeed, the restaurant La Salie Sud, located in a national forest near the Teste de Buch was completely destroyed by the fires. “It is with great sadness that we confirm the end of our beautiful Salie Sud”, says the restaurant on its Instagram page. A blow also for Jérémy Frérot who also wanted to pay tribute to this place that he appreciates. “The reality… A place full of life, a place and this mythical tree gone up in smoke in 5 minutes”he writes in a first story, before paying tribute to the people behind this place: “But these places do not exist by themselves, they are also people who carry them… So strength to all this team, and all those who have lost their place, courage for this time of mourning and strongly the time for a new story!” (the stories can be found in the slideshow).
