Some residents had to be evacuated a second time, within a fortnight, due to a new fire which threatened the village of Mano, in the Landes, on Monday 1er august.

Throughout the day on Monday August 1, the firefighters crisscrossed the area, at the level of the village of Mano (Landes). The flames continue to roam the pine forest, even if the fire is contained within a perimeter of 300 hectares. The 160 firefighters on the ground are helped in their fight by two Canadairs, ready to intervene if the fires start again. Sunday, July 31, a resident of Mano saw the flames coming to the village and packed his bags, as a precaution.

As soon as we saw the fire, I came home and told my wife to pack a bag and the cat’s things.“, he confides. About forty people have been evacuated. For some, it is the second time in two weeks. They had already had to leave at the time of the fire in Landiras (Gironde). Today, weariness peaks.”No sooner have you undone things than you have to redo them. It’s a constant stress“, sighs a resident of Mano.
