Wednesday, July 27, the flames raging in Hérault are no longer progressing and the fire has been fixed. 1,000 hectares have already burned.

A blackened landscape and trees burned by the flames, this is the sad spectacle that the fire in Hérault left behind, Wednesday July 27. However, good news should be noted since the fire is now fixed, having burned 1,000 hectares. If the vegetation suffered the flames, no dwelling was destroyed. “The fight was intense, it was active and effective as you can see, the flames were stopped a few meters from the houses”reports firefighter lieutenant Alain Vergé.

For the firefighters, the night was very long and they tried as best they could to put out the flames, despite a flagrant lack of means, in particular air. “The problem is that there is no plane, we deal zone by zone so that there are no retakes”explains a firefighter on the ground. 300 inhabitants had to quickly evacuate their accommodation, they were able to return to it on Wednesday July 27.
