More than two months after the gigantic fires that ravaged the forests of Gironde, it’s time to collect wood. The wood, cut, was made available to the inhabitants.

To The-Teste-de-Buch (Gironde)the wood is self-service. This is a godsend in this time of energy crisis. Equipped with their chainsaw, the inhabitants of the sector did not hesitate to come and help themselves. So one of them will use this wood “to warm up this winter”. The forest of The-Teste-de-Buch was devastated this summer by a violent fire. 7,000 hectares had then been destroyed.

To prevent the flames from devouring the landscape further, authorities had cut down trees so that the flames had nothing left to burn. It is therefore this wood that is made available today. A local resident is delighted that the wood has already been cut. Traditionally, it is the inhabitants who come themselves to cut wood in the forest, but this time, the passage is forbidden to them. The only rule for the inhabitants: do not resell this wood.
