Sunday July 24, Eastern Europe touched by terrible fires. The situation is worrying in the Canary Islands and Greece. Firefighters are battling several fires, including one on the island of Lesvos, where tourists and locals had to be evacuated.

The emergency evacuation took place on Saturday July 23 in Lesbos (Greece), faces smoke and fires that threaten tourists and residents of a seaside resort. On the heights, the powerful fire is dangerously close to the houses. At minus four of them were destroyed, despite the tireless work of the firefighters, helped by a few villagers, provided with simple hoses watering.

Greece has been hit by a strong heat wave for 24 hours. Record temperatures are expected in the coming days, raising fears of new fires. Further west, Spain is also battling very intense fires. In part of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, 2,000 ha have already burned. 600 residents were evacuated as a precaution. Spain is the European country most affected by forest fires. Since the beginning of the year, 200,000 ha have already burned.
