A forest weather map is being put in place to alert and reinforce everyone’s vigilance. Will this become an effective prevention tool for hikers and ONF agents?
In the middle of the ferns in the forest of Fontainebleau (Seine-et-Marne), a burned plot. For the ONF, manager of the forest, it is a perfectly avoidable spring fire. A total of three fires destroyed five hectares out of 22,000. Raising awareness among walkers
Some drills are more fragile than others. This is why Météo France is launching its daily fire risk map. There will be four color levels depending on the hazard. The map was drawn up according to 5 criteria: temperature, rain, air humidity, wind strength, and the state of dryness of the vegetation. A prevention tool to raise awareness among all walkers. In the forest of Fontainebleau, attendance has increased by 25% in 5 years.
