Firefighters search for a man who fell in the Gave de Pau in Gelos

The banks of the Gave de Pau, in Gelos, were very rough all afternoon on Saturday May 21. Firefighters were called for a man who fell into the water at the footbridge. They deployed the great meansin the air and in the river, to find him, but without success.

According to the emergency services, the 33-year-old jumped into the water to retrieve an object that had fallen. The alert was given around 3:30 p.m. and firefighters spent the afternoon searching for the missing victim. They used drones and a Dragon 64 helicopter to monitor the Gave. Six men, aquatic rescue and specialized personnel, searched the river directly in the water.

The man has not been found. The search ended at 7 p.m.
