A fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in Saint-Geniez-ô-Merle, in the south-east of Corrèze. According to initial findings, the fire would have started from an agricultural machine.
Several dozen firefighters are engaged on this disaster difficult to access because of the steep terrain. Joined by France Bleu Limousin at the end of the afternoon, the Corrèze firefighters did not yet have any details on the number of hectares burned, but the fire is spreading. Gendarmes and firefighters plan to evacuate three hamlets of the town threatened by the flames.
