Despite the indictment he learned of on Friday December 8, 2023 for “breach of trust” and “passive private corruption”, journalist Rachid M’Barki has already managed to bounce back… but far from France! The 54-year-old journalist, fired by the Altice group at the start of the year after eighteen years of good and loyal service due to an investigation opened for suspicion of foreign interference in French politics and current affairs mentioned in his nightly shows on BFMTV, is preparing to host a new radio show… in Morocco! Indeed, on his social networks, the former host of Bring the Accused, who had succeeded Christophe Hondelatte and Frédérique Lantieri, announced that he would be able to continue his journalistic career from Morocco, despite being put in exam.
“Hello, it’s Rachid M’Barki. I will have the pleasure, from this month of January, of meeting you on Atlantic Radio every day between noon and 2 p.m. I will receive personalities for interviews which I hope exciting” soberly announced the journalist, who however did not give more details as to the launch date of this show, or even its title. For fans who followed the editions of Rachid M’Barki on BFMTV, it will not be unfortunately not possible to hear it: this channel, which belongs to the French group Éco-Médias, does not broadcast in France, but exclusively in Morocco, from its head office located in Casablanca.
This arrival on the Moroccan airwaves inevitably revives the rumors, since Rachid M’Barki is suspected of having maintained dubious links with this country for several months, contrary to journalistic ethics, and which initially led to the launch of an internal investigation, then secondly the filing of a complaint against X by the Altice group, thirdly his dismissal for serious misconduct, and fourthly a recent indictment, for acts of interference aforementioned for which he remains at this stage presumed innocent.
