A joke with a bitter taste… On November 30, 2017, in “It’s only TV” on C8, Tex was undoubtedly light years away from suspecting the repercussions of the joke he was going to tell in front of thousands of viewers: “Guys, you know what they say to a woman who already has two black eyes? We don’t tell her anything, we’ve already explained to her twice!”, he had dropped on the set. Quickly, this sequence reported hundreds of times to the CSA had a huge bad buzz. A few days later, the troublemaker who officiated in the animation of “Z’amours” on France 2 for 17 years had been thanked by the management of France Télévisions. Since then, Tex has become much rarer on television and the 61-year-old artist does not necessarily want to return forever to this episode which was painful for him.
Saturday January 19, the comedian currently on tour was the guest of Matthieu Delormeau in “TPMP People”. Unsurprisingly, however, Tex was asked to come back to this joke that he won’t soon forget. But far from denying it, Tex affirmed to fully assume it and not to regret it. “The valves that we make all have, more or less, an educational aspect. It’s complicated to say that, it would amount to explaining the profession of comedian. We don’t make jokes by accident. When there is something that is hot, we have to go there. It’s our job. We are almost obliged to go there, we cannot let it pass. We are used to serve the soup. Let’s hurry to laugh at serious things before we have to cry about it”, he reacted. In the process, Jean-Christophe Le Texier, his real name, lamented the current era: “I find that this joke is not a mistake. I regret the extent that it takes around a joke, that’s what I regret. I regret the lightness of the time and the fact that we were in a free country. We are losing all that”.
