Firearms trafficking | Several searches and arrests in the Montreal area

(Montreal) The authorities are carrying out a series of searches and arrests on Wednesday morning in connection with a firearms trafficking network in Montreal and on the South Shore.

They are the police officers of the Montreal Integrated Weapons Trafficking Team (EILTA), made up of members of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) and the Agence of Canada’s border services who are carrying out these major searches on Wednesday morning.

Several arrests took place in Delson, Saint-Amable, Longueuil and Montreal with the aim of neutralizing a firearms trafficking network linked to Montreal street gangs. The suspects are scheduled to appear Wednesday afternoon.
