10,000 rounds of ammunition, 200 high-capacity magazines, nearly 40 firearms: the RCMP arrested two alleged arms traffickers from Vaudreuil-Dorion after an impressive seizure of the suspects’ homes. The defendants allegedly sourced their supplies through various online platforms from legitimate companies and illegal sellers internationally.
Jordan Madden, 29, and Joshua Madden, 31, are scheduled to appear Friday in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield on seven counts related to the possession, storage, trafficking and transfer of firearms.
The Integrated National Security Team (INSET) seized a large number of firearms from a residence in Vaudreuil-Dorion on November 30. The operation aimed to neutralize the illegal activities of the individuals under investigation.
“A rapid intervention made it possible to discover an imposing deposit of weapons at the home of the two accused”, explains the RCMP in a press release.
The police seized 37 firearms, weapon parts and military accessories, more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition, 200 high-capacity magazines as well as equipment associated with far-right ideologies. “The National Firearms Law Enforcement Support Team (ENSALA) also intervened on site because of the size of the arsenal,” it says.
Suspicious packages
The investigation began last year following an interception of packages by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Collaboration between Canada Post and the RCMP has identified a pattern of suspicious activity related to packages destined for Jordan and Joshua Madden. These came in particular from firearms and military equipment businesses.
The defendants allegedly sourced their supplies through various online platforms from legitimate companies and illegal sellers internationally. The weapons were then sold on the illegal market across the country.
