Firearms and narcotics | The SPVM makes seven arrests

Montreal police said Tuesday they arrested seven suspects and seized firearms, narcotics, burglary tools and balaclavas.

The arrests took place during two separate police interventions carried out last Wednesday night. On August 10, around 2:35 a.m., officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) intercepted a vehicle with illegally tinted windows, which was traveling on rue de Vittel, in the borough of Saint-Léonard. .

After finding that the driver had provided them with a false identity, officers discovered a handgun, burglary tools and two balaclavas inside the vehicle.

The two occupants, Krantz Melu Audate, 25, and Dexter Alonza Ajay Hall junior, 22, were placed under arrest and appeared at the Montreal courthouse.

A few hours later, around 5 a.m., officers arrested five individuals following a police investigation targeting drug traffickers.

A search inside a dwelling on rue Willibrord, in the borough of Verdun, led to the seizure of a handgun as well as crack, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, GHB, speed and Xanax.

Three of the arrested suspects appeared at the courthouse to be charged with possession of a firearm and possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. They are Alexandre Carbonneau-Blais, 36, Nicola Di Iorio, 34, and Kim Gagnon, 29.
