Ayoub Machkour is suspected of breaking and entering and pointing a gun. He remains in detention and his return to court is scheduled for the afternoon.

The 21-year-old is prohibited from owning a weapon.

According to our information, he is considered by the Laval police to be linked to the Chomedey 45, a street gang present in the sector of the same name on Île Jésus.

He was allegedly the victim of an attempted murder on the evening of August 29 and hit by a projectile in the back when the vehicle he was in was riddled with bullets by individuals in another vehicle on the 63e avenue. Shots were also reportedly fired at his residence.

“The crime against the person squad continues to work hard to resolve the ongoing investigations related to the gun violence events that have taken place in the territory recently,” said the police force in a statement.

During three searches of two homes and a vehicle, authorities seized two bulletproof vests, an air pistol and other evidence.

Anyone with information is invited to contact the Laval police, in complete confidentiality on the Info-Line 450 662-INFO (4636) or by dialing 911, mentioning the LVL file 210 728 026.
