A member of a criminal group from Montreal North received five years in prison for possession of a firearm, obstruction and assault against a peace officer. Membership in a street gang is one of the factors justifying this harsh sentence, according to the judgment.
Septus Grolls, aka Bloodshot or OGC, was convicted of assault on a peace officer, obstruction and possession of a firearm. He had tried to intercept the Tactical Intervention Group (GTI) in July 2020. “The accused escapes by car and rushes towards the police,” recalled Judge Flavia K Longo on Wednesday afternoon in her judgment.

Judge Longo concludes in her decision that the accused is indeed a member of the street gang and considered his membership as an aggravating factor. At the time of the crime, Mr. Grolls was 20 years old and had no criminal record.
As a result of his pre-trial detention, Mr. Grolls has approximately 18 months remaining on his sentence.
He is prohibited from being in the presence of people who he knows have criminal records and from driving a vehicle for a period of one year.
