Fire in Saint-Laurent: the police are investigating

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) has opened an investigation into the causes of a fire that broke out in a business on rue Beaulac, near boulevard de la Côte-Vertu, in the borough of Saint -Laurent, early Sunday morning.

The call to 9-1-1 was first made around 4 a.m. Sunday. The fire was quickly taken care of by firefighters from the Montreal Fire Department. Responsibility for the file was then transferred to SPVM investigators.

Due to the presence of a possible incendiary object discovered on the scene, a security perimeter has been set up. Investigators from the arson module will thus be able to better analyze the scene and try to understand the circumstances that led to this event.

No injuries were reported at the scene, and no arrests have been made by the police in this case at this time.
