The flames are now out, but the fire that has ravaged more than 3,000 hectares since Monday passed through his home. All of his gear and inventory is “screwed up”, as he puts it. He was there when the flames arrived. He took refuge in his swimming pool, and the fire went over his head. His house is saved, but the other two, next to his house, are destroyed.
