All the occupants of the Pointe-aux-Trembles apartment in which a fire broke out early last Friday died, according to information confirmed by TVA Nouvelles from the family.

The last victim of the disaster is Dany Bernier, 31 years old. He was disconnected last weekend, his loved ones confirm with sadness.
Dany Bernier is the son of Alain Bernier, 58, who also died despite the rapid intervention of emergency services and resuscitation maneuvers.

A 35-year-old woman also lost her life following the fire in the HLM for seniors in the St-Jean-Baptiste Boulevard district at the intersection of Rue de la Gauchetière.
This woman was, according to people close to her, the friend of Dany Bernier. The latter, who live in the Quebec region, were visiting the east of the metropolis.
The flames spread to the second floor around 4 a.m.
The exact cause of the fire, which was accidental, was not revealed by the Montreal Fire Department, but according to the family, it was a smoking article which caused the fatal incident.
