A CHSLD was engulfed in flames early Sunday in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, in Montérégie.
The fire broke out around 11 a.m. in the CHSLD Georges-Phaneuf, located at 230 boulevard Jacques-Cartier Nord. The fire was quickly brought under control by firefighters.
A source confirmed to TVA Nouvelles that at least one person had been taken to hospital.
“There was support carried out by the fire department, assisted by the police department,” indicated a spokesperson for the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu police.
An investigation was opened by the police to understand the causes and circumstances surrounding this fire.
