A fire ravaged three residential buildings on Sunday in Farnham, Estrie. A dozen citizens found themselves homeless on Boxing Day.
At around 6 a.m. Sunday morning, two single-family homes and a duplex were engulfed in flames.
“We are talking about a fire of electrical origin, for the moment there is nothing to suggest that it is something else than that”, explained to Press the mayor of Farnham, Patrick Melchior.
“This morning, I went to open the Town Hall to be able to welcome them with the Red Cross in the council chamber”, continued the mayor.
Some victims went to family members for accommodation, and others were relocated to a hotel in the municipality.
“In Farnham, we have a foundation, the mayor’s foundation. It is certain that if I see that there are people who are having trouble relocating or if there is help to be given, we will be there, ”said Patrick Melchior.
