On the night of Wednesday August 3 to Thursday August 4, a new fire broke out in a factory in Molsheim, near Strasbourg. The Safran company site is Seveso classified. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any deaths. Journalist Anne-Laure Marie is on hand to take stock of the situation.
After the explosion in a factory in Bergerac (Dordogne), another Seveso-classified establishment experienced a fire during the night of Thursday August 4. The presence of chemicals in the building initially raised fears of the worst. “No, a priori, no risk of serious pollution or moreover of dangerous toxic release since the prefecture of Bas-Rhin specifies in a press release this morning that measurements have been taken regularly”reveals Anne-Laure Marie.
The flames started to reach the building during the night. “The fire broke out shortly before midnight in a building containing acids, on the Safran site. Safran, this Alsatian company specializing in aeronautics and whose site is classified Seveso, high threshold. that it harbors many toxic and dangerous products”, reports Anne-Laure Marie. The fire was put out thanks to the intervention of 90 firefighters.
