Finland: at the heart of the controversy, Sanna Marin defends her right to “joy” and “life”

The First Finnish Minister, Sanna Marin, has been at the heart of a controversy for several days, after the broadcast of a video where we see her partying. A new photo has been added to the scandal. We see two women kissing, and covering their chests with a “Finland” sign. First published on social networks and then by the media of the country, it was taken in the residence of Sanna Marin.

Sanna Marin had to apologize on Tuesday August 23, explaining that the photo was inappropriate. The next day, at an event organized by her country, she defended herself again, on the verge of tears: “I’m human, and I too sometimes crave joy and light and fun amidst those dark clouds. And that involves all kinds of photos and videos that I wouldn’t want to see, that I know you wouldn’t want to see. And yet, we are shown them to all of us. It’s private, it’s joy and it’s life.”
