Air quality is poor on Monday February 13 in 24 cities in France. The prefectures have therefore put in place travel and speed restrictions, in an attempt to limit fine particle pollution, which has an impact on our health.

A screed covers the city. Lyon (Rhône) woke up again with an episode of pollution. In the region since Monday, February 13 in the afternoon, certain industries, certain construction sites had to stop. In the street, pedestrians feel the poor air quality. Fifteen checkpoints have been set up to check the entry of vehicles into low-emission zones.

Automobile traffic and domestic wood heating

Only Crit’Air 0, 1 and 2 vehicles are authorized on Monday. The driver of a Crit’Air 3 vehicle will have to pay a fine of 68 euros. Lyon is not the only city affected by this pollution peak. The entire Rhône valley is affected, as are the Gironde and the Haut-Rhin. In question, car traffic and domestic wood heating, coupled with particular weather conditions with lots of sun and little wind. Consequence: a hot air cover traps fine particles.
