Find out how François Pervis will try to break the world speed record

It’s a crazy record that François Pervis is currently trying to beat. The seven-time track cycling world champion from Mayenne is in the United States to take part in a unique competition. Riding a streamlined recumbent bike, he is trying to break the world speed record.

The competition began on Sunday, September 11 at Battle Mountain in the Nevada desert. The first attempt, Sunday evening, was canceled due to weather conditions, too windy.

This Monday morning, François Pervis was able to make a first try. He and his two-wheeled car reached a speed of 139 km/h. The record to beat is 144 km/h.

A new attempt is planned for the night of Monday to Tuesday, French time.
