A woman suffered violence from her partner, who beat her for four years. One day, a friend lent her 300 euros and she decided to run away and rent a vehicle. “I had no income”, she explains, affirming that she would perhaps have stayed with her partner if she had not had this money. For profiles like his, the National Family Allowance Fund is launching emergency aid. Its amount will be at least 240 euros and may rise up to 1,337 euros.
“On intervenes before the separation“
This assistance may take the form of a repayable loan if the victims receive an income above a certain minimum wage rate and depending on the number of dependent children. The files are studied within the family allowance funds (CAF). The objective is to act quickly and the response is returned within three to five days. “It is a lever which is important for the victims, since we intervene before the separation. It makes it possible to secure the victims”explains Christelle Kissane, director of the CAF of Val-d’Oise.
