Elisabeth Borne, the Prime Minister, presented the “France ruralities” plan, Thursday June 15. It aims to support the installation of multi-service shops in the villages. Example in the Nièvre.

Fairlead (Nièvre), a small village of 200 inhabitants, empty of its businesses for many years. Only one creperie is still open today. But the city councilor, Jean-Pierre Billard, wants to wake up his town. In particular, he wants to transform an old barn into a restaurant and grocery store. Work will begin in mid-July. “It’s a project that will cost just over 500,000 euros and which is largely funded by grants”says the mayor.

Aid of 50,000 euros

He should also receive 50,000 euros from the state for this project. This aid is part of map “France ruralities”, presented Thursday, June 15 by the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne. For Jean-Pierre Billard, this boost is “essential” and will allow “to equip the whole kitchen”. In the village, the opening of trade feeds all the discussions. “I hope that I will not have nuisances in front of my door”fears a woman. For three years, the inhabitants of Lurcy-le-Bourg (Nièvre) have also benefited from a multi-service grocery store.
