The results were presented in the Monthly Financial Operations Report as of May 31, 2022.
Despite everything, the Ministry of Finance of the Belle Province is satisfied, since the most recent deficit “represents an improvement of $426 million in the budgetary balance compared to the same period last year”, he indicated in a statement.
Note that a budget deficit of $1.7 billion is forecast for the whole of 2022-2023 before use of the stabilization reserve, according to the data presented in the Pre-election report on the state of Québec’s public finances.
