“Finally, the method has changed! We are on measures that are discussed before being put in place”reacted Friday, February 11 on franceinfo Guislaine David, co-secretary general of the SNUipp-FSU, after the announcements of the Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, concerning the reduction of the health protocol in schools. “It will have taken 20 months for this ministry to change the method of anticipation and staff information”, she welcomed, with reference to the discussions that took place upstream with the unions. From now on, “staff are informed by email of these changes even before the minister speaks to the press”as demanded by the teachers’ unions during the January 13 strike.

“Satisfied with the form”Guislaine David judged the substance of the measures “rather satisfactory”, “in terms of progressiveness”. “We are moving towards caution by putting in place measures which will not apply overnight and only if the epidemic situation is on the decline”she continued, believing that “What is important for teachers is to find serenity in the classroom”.

“The mask is kept indoors, that’s what we wanted, we wanted a little caution on the relief”, she insisted, while the mask will no longer be compulsory outdoors, at recess for example, from February 21. On the end of the certificates on honor to return to class after having been in contact, Guislaine David was delighted with the fact that “This will lighten the burden on directors who spent their time checking these certificates”. “It’s really measures that are progressive, anticipated measures”she insisted, in particular concerning the possibility of practicing sport indoors without a mask but keeping physical distance and avoiding contact sports.

On the other hand, concerning the passing of three tests to “a test on D+2 when a positive case is detected in the class”, she expressed some reservations. On this subject, Guislaine David would have preferred “more prevention” and the use of saliva tests “which have been completely abandoned”.
