Finally sold for about $160,000 less than expected on Le Plateau

Every day, hundreds of properties change hands in Quebec, most of them without knowing the fine details. That was before anyone got interested in it… Here are the latest transactions that caught our attention.

In a sign that times are changing, a prominent residence in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal district has finally sold for $1,930,000, more than $160,000 below the asking price a year ago.

Its owner, D.^r Kuman Pavan, an anesthesiologist now residing in the municipality of Westmount, bought it in 2014 with his spouse, Dr.^r Marie-Christine Ross-Huot, for $1,675,000.

This residence is a former commercial building located at 4623 Mentana Street. The building has been converted into a condominium with three floors, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sauna, a double garage and an interior courtyard.

As the living spaces occupy the top floor, the presence of a freight elevator serving the three levels facilitates domestic organization. The set is an architectural achievement of the firm of architects Blouin Tardif.

A year ago, this residence was put up for sale by Profusion Immobilier for the sum of $2,095,000. The sale was therefore concluded for $165,000 below the price originally expected.
