It is expected to be a very slight increase compared to the first round on June 30. The overall turnout will be 67%. in the second round of the legislative elections, Sunday July 7, according to our estimate Ipsos-Talan for France Télévisions, Radio France, France 24, RFI and LCP. Abstention should be 33%, according to the same estimate. On June 30, participation had reached a historically high level of 66.71%, a level not seen in almost 30 years, according to figures from the Ministry of the Interior.

If this trend continues, participation will be up by just over 13 points compared to the second round of the 2022 legislative elections, during which less than half of the voters called to the polls (46.23%) went to the polling booths. During the 2017 election, 42.64% of registered voters also went to the polls. In the case of the second rounds, the figures are calculated from the number of registered voters in the constituencies that did not elect their MP in the first round.

Polling stations are open until 6 p.m. in most municipalities, but until 7 or 8 p.m. in some large cities. The first results of these early elections, which are likely to shake up the political landscape of France, will then emerge.
