The documentary filmmaker Danic Champoux, revealed in the Race destination worlddied Friday at the age of 45.

His death, the cause of which has not been specified, was announced on Saturday evening by the Pixellex agency, which represented him.
“It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of our friend, our brother, director Danic Champoux. He left us on Friday. His departure creates a great void in all who knew him,” the statement said.
Participating in the Race destination world at Radio-Canada, Danic Champoux has carved out a place for himself in Quebec cinema with his intimate documentaries, driven by great humanity. The latest, CHSLD, my love (2020), is an open door to life in a residential center, before it was turned upside down by the pandemic.
Among other achievements, the filmmaker signs The girl from the crater (2019), which follows in the footsteps of Yolande Simard Perrault, companion of the illustrious filmmaker Pierre Perrault, and Tale of the Center-South (2016), a raw chronicle of his daily life with his mother, a “chronic BS”.
“It is with great sadness that we learned this morning of the death of Danic Champoux. A filmmaker with a benevolent and luminous gaze, he will have made his mark by directing more than fifteen award-winning documentaries, ”responded the National Film Board of Canada on Twitter.
Danic Champoux was the father of four children.
