The filmmaker was back in court Tuesday morning at the Montreal courthouse. According to experts from the Philippe-Pinel National Institute of Forensic Psychiatry, Emmanuel Gendron-Tardif is not fit to appear at this time.

Judge Suzanne Costom then entrusted the accused to the care of the Pinel Institute for a period of 30 days. Psychiatrists will try to stabilize his condition and will have to reassess his fitness to appear. Until the accused is declared fit, the file will remain at this stage of the proceedings.

The case will return on March 28. Me Anne-Andrée Charrette represents the public ministry.
