It was an emotional day last Friday on the set of the series six degrees. After three seasons, the actors said goodbye to their colorful characters of Leon, Ricardo, Florence and Doris.
Indeed, the 32 days of shooting the third and final season of the series written by Simon Boulerice ended Friday at Notre-Dame College in Montreal. The 13 30-minute episodes, broadcast this summer on TOU.TV Extra, will follow the ups and downs of Léon and his companions as they finish high school.
“This season is the season of maturity,” says author Simon Boulerice, who also plays the role of Antoine, a French teacher recently promoted to 5e secondary. “We find the characters three months after the end of the events of the second season. Léon is about to publish his novel and he is torn between euphoria and the dizziness of being criticized. The impact his book will have could be painful. »
Noah Parker, who plays Leon, a visually impaired person whose vision is limited to six degrees, adds: “Leon has always received a lot of accolades in his life, but he can’t always win. He will also meet new characters who will seduce him a lot… As for the mourning of his mother, he has gone through it, but he will consult a psychologist, because he still has things to demystify about himself. »

Love is therefore not excluded for the young man a bit flayed by his relationship with Florence. The series also opens with good news for her – spoiler alert! –: the young girl finally received the lung transplant she was waiting for.
“She has to focus on her remission, which is not easy for her, who is always carrying out a thousand projects at the same time, explains her interpreter, Marine Johnson. Florence and her parents have become neighbors of Leon’s family, which is great. And she’s still with Maggie. We can guess, however, that the road will be bumpy for the two young women.
The character of Ricardo, played by Anthony Therrien, will also experience a year rich in emotions with the meeting of his biological father. However, the appearance of this father, who had been absent until then, risks turning the life of the whole family upside down. As for Doris (Léanne Désilets), she will put all her energy into obtaining the Governor’s Medal, while Bélinda (Evelyne Laferrière) will abandon social networks to turn to the podcast.

“I’m going through real mourning, but it’s a serene mourning,” explains Simon Boulerice, who also said goodbye to the show last week. This year, in which he had participated for five years. “These are two decisive projects in my career that ended suddenly. six degrees was my first solo project. I worked four years writing the series. But I’m happy: everything ends as I had planned at the very beginning, even if I went through unexpected paths to get there. »
Noah Parker’s career has also come a long way since the 24-year-old actor first took on the role of Leon. “This character has marked my personal and professional life a lot. He led me to surpass myself. It was the first time I played a person with a disability and I wanted to do it with respect. I really grew as a person through my years with Léon. It’s a big step in my life that is coming to an end. »

After this final day of filming, the actors went their separate ways. Noah Parker will spend the next two months in New Zealand with his paternal family before shooting director Pier-Luc Latulippe’s first feature film in the fall. For the rest, he would see himself writing, or even directing in the not too distant future.
Marine Johnson plans to take a summer off after filming for the series ends. STAT (in which she plays Rosalie, the daughter of psychiatrist Philippe Dupéré). And Anthony Therrien will reprise his role as Dave in April for the show’s second season. Black Lakewhich will be filmed in the Laurentians.
