Deschamps, of Vaudreuil-Dorion, and his partner posted a score of 172.71, seven points behind Ontarians Evelyn Walsh and Trennt Michaud.

The latter were second after the short program the day before, which makes this third place more disappointing. It is still an international personal best for Walsh and Michaud, who got their hands on a first medal at this level.

In addition to the good performance of Stellato and Deschamps, the Lévisiens Lori-Ann Matte and Thierry Ferland finished in sixth place with 163.90 points.

The United States achieved the double by taking the first two positions. Pairs of Audrey Lu and Misha Mitrofanov (189.10) then Emily Chan and Spencer Arika Howe (180.94) took gold and silver respectively.

Among the women, Véronik Mallet, from Sept-Îles, finished 13th. Ontarian Gabrielle Daleman was the best representative of the maple leaf with a 10th place.
