Figure skating | Lajoie and Lagha retain fifth place at NHK Trophy

Figure skaters Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha concluded the NHK Trophy competition in fifth place on Saturday at this Grand Prix presented in Tokyo.



The Quebecers collected a cumulative score of 187.38 points following their fourth place obtained in the free dance performed to the soundtrack of the animated film Rio.

In the general standings, Lajoie (Boucherville) and Lagha (Saint-Hubert) were 4.53 points behind the bronze medalists, the British Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson (191.91). Recall that Friday, the Quebec pair was provisionally fifth at the end of the rhythmic dance.

“It’s a great week in Japan! Looks like we’ve learned to calm down when we skate. It was really fun with the crowd, ”admitted Lajoie enthusiastically.
