Canadian figure skating champion Keegan Messing is on his way to Montreal, where he hopes to get his second negative test needed to get to the Beijing Games.

The information was released by a Skate Canada representative after the first day of the team competition. Messing was infected with COVID-19 two weeks ago. The Chinese government requires him to have two negative PCR tests before he can enter the Olympic bubble. Skate Canada expects Messing to land in China Feb. 7, just in time for his solo competition.
