More than a month after welcoming the Formula 1 single-seaters, the turn of the MotoGP to travel to the Silverstone circuit on Sunday August 7 for the 2022 British Grand Prix. This twelfth round of the calendar, which has twenty deadlines, will be an opportunity to observe a new battle at the top between the two leaders of the championship, Fabio Quartararo and Aleix Espargaro, separated by only 21 points. Last year, the Frenchman was the fastest in Great Britain.
The drivers will return to the track after a long hiatus due to the cancellation of the Finnish Grand Prix in July. On Sunday, the other Frenchman Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac), 3rd in the world championship, will start in the lead after having signed pole position and a new circuit record on Saturday. Quartararo is in ambush in 4th place, Espargaro two rows further after he suffered a violent fall during free practice. The drivers will follow the same route as their Formula 1 counterparts, the longest of the season (5.9 km) and certainly one of the fastest if the weather does not disturb the race. Departure is scheduled for 2 p.m.
