Fight and gunshots in Saint-Léonard

(Montreal) A fight broke out Friday evening between a small group of men in the borough of Saint-Léonard, in Montreal. Gunshots were heard, but no injuries were reported. Two men were arrested.




The altercation occurred around 7:15 p.m. at the corner of rue des Angevins and rue de Lisieux, in Saint-Léonard. A residential area overlooking Ladauversière Park.

Witnesses called 911 when a fight broke out between a small group of people and gunshots were heard. The suspects fled on foot before police arrived.

On site, patrol officers located a firearm casing, indicates Véronique Dubuc, public relations officer for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM). No suspects have been located.

A large perimeter was set up for investigation purposes. In the evening, two men aged 18 and 19 were arrested in connection with the case. Patrollers, the canine squad and agents from the ARRET project dedicated to the fight against armed violence went to the site.
