Fight against sexual exploitation | Quebec and Ottawa pay 19 million to the SQ

The governments of Quebec and Canada announced on Friday funding of 19 million over six years for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) to support the police force in its fight against the sexual exploitation of children on the web.

The Minister of Public Security, François Bonnardel, made the announcement Friday morning alongside the Trudeau government’s Quebec lieutenant, Pablo Rodriguez and the director of the SQ, Johanne Beausoleil.

Minister Bonnardel indicated that this funding will be used in particular to hire more staff and provide psychological support to stakeholders.
