Fifth straight victory for the Habs

Artturi Lehkonen scored two goals and the Montreal Canadiens beat the Ottawa Senators 2-1 on Saturday night, signing a fifth straight victory.

The Canadiens hadn’t won five straight regular season games in over four years. The last time this happened was from November 25 to December 2, 2017.

Andrew Hammond has made his second start since joining the CH, this time against the team with which he broke into the Bettman circuit. The 34-year-old veteran did well and ended his night’s work with 26 saves, recording a second straight win with his new club.

His vis-à-vis, Matt Murray, hoped to sign a first victory in four starts. He stopped 30 of 32 shots for the Senators.

The Habs will continue their five-game road trip by visiting the Jets in Winnipeg on Tuesday night. The Manitoba squad is currently going through a four-game losing streak.
