The Women’s World Cup kicked off in New Zealand, a co-host country with Australia. As a prelude to the first match of the tournament, a rather sober opening ceremony took place on the morning of Thursday 20 July at Eden Park in Auckland.

The Blues ready to fight
Spectators from all over the world made the trip to follow the competition, especially from the fan zones. “Everything was sold out, I was not quick enough to buy tickets.
