Hellfest, one of the biggest hard-rock festivals, is making a comeback after two years of absence in Clisson in the Nantes vineyards. For two weekends, 420,000 people are expected. For fans, it’s an unmissable event, despite the overwhelming heat.
To witness the return of metal on stage, you had to wet your jersey. The Hellfest festival opened Saturday June 18. “It was perfect. It’s scorching hot, but it was really too much good”, testifies a man. “Fortunately, there is water. They have everything planned. We take full advantage of it”says a woman. Up to 37°C are expected. “We meet people from all walks of life, of all languages. We like it”says a young man.
“Usually, we double the beer, but here we doubled the soft drinks because I think that before 6 p.m., it is better to drink soft drinks rather than beer”explains Olivier Garnier, press officer for the festival. “Frankly, I’m in heaven and hell. We’re good”, assures a stranger. With two festival weekends this year and twice as many concerts, Ie Hellfest is just beginning.
