Ferrero to market vegan version of Nutella in Europe

Food industry giant Ferrero announced on Tuesday, September 3, that it would begin marketing a vegan version of its hazelnut spread Nutella in several European countries, including France. “Today, more and more consumers are choosing to reduce or avoid animal products, whether for dietary or lifestyle reasons.“, the company wrote in a press release.

The launch is scheduled to take place on September 4 in Italy, the group’s and brand’s home country, in France and Belgium, spokespeople told AFP. To avoid any ingredients of animal origin, the company “removes milk and adds plant-based ingredients such as chickpeas and rice syrup” in his recipe, adds Ferrero, who claims not to have made “no compromise on taste”.
