22 years after his last Coupe de France final, FC Nantes will return to the Stade de France ! The Canaries dominated AS Monaco (2-2, 4-2 tab) in the semi-final of the competition this Wednesday evening in a stadium in La Beaujoire in fusion. They will find Nice at the Stade de France on May 8, the Niçois have indeed dominated Versailles on Tuesday evening in the other semi-final.
Nantes have already won the Coupe de France three times, in eight finals. But they have not played at the Stade de France since 2004, during a League Cup final lost against Sochaux on penalties.
At the end of the suspense
The duel was tight ! Monaco opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Guillermo Maripán. Lonely, the Monegasque central defender cuts the trajectory of a free kick, thus deceiving the Nantes goalkeeper Rémy Descamps. The Canaries equalized nine minutes later on a magnificent counter, which ended with an own goal from Djibril Sidibé. At the break, the two teams are back to back (1-1).
FC Nantes took the lead in the 74th minute thanks to Samuel Moutoussamy but it didn’t last. The Monegasques come back to the score only two minutes later through Myron Boadu (2-2). The two teams push but neutralize each other and have to go through the penalty shootout to decide. And it is finally FC Nantes who wins thanks to an imperial Remy Descamps.
