FC Nantes escapes the relegation zone in extremis

FC Nantes has only 2 wins after 15 days, it’s even worse than two seasons ago, when the Canaries had snatched their stay in the play-offs. Success eluded them again against Ajaccio (2-2), as they did earlier in the season against Angers (0-0) or against Clermont (1-1), confirming a tendency to miss the boat against direct competitors from the second half of the standings.

Antoine Kombouaré’s players will take the opportunity to recharge their batteries, after having played 22 matches in 3 and a half months. They will resume competition against Troyes just after Christmas (December 28 or 29, pending TV programming).

Quentin Merlin, retained with the France Espoirs team this week, will wait a bit before giving himself a few days off, while Charles Traoré is gradually returning. The Malian side took part in 60 minutes during the defeat of the reserve team at Angoulême on Saturday (3-0).
