It’s a perilous trip that awaits Metis footballers this Saturday. After the fiasco of the match against Guingamp, during which four Grenats were expelled, FC Metz went to the Armand Césari stadium to face Bastia. Objective: to limit damage and avoid a fourth defeat in the league.
Bassi and Centonze in the Metz group
For this fourth trip of the season, FC Metz is deprived of Marc-Aurèle Caillard (knee injury), as well as Niane, Kouyaté, Oukidja and Jean-Jacques (suspended). In this context, four players are returning to the squad: Fabien Centonze, Amine Bassi, Amadou Dia Ndiaye and Alexis Mirbach.
Suspended against Guingamp, the top scorer in Metz, Georges Mikautadzeis back.
Absent also at Sporting.
Held in check last weekend in Nîmes, the Sporting Club de Bastia, also deplores several absentees : Kaiboue, Magri, Vincent and Sainati are also suspended.
The Corsicans coach, Regis Brouard, is also suspended from the bench. He will attend the meeting from the stands of Armand Cesari. He does not always understand the severity of the referees since the start of the season.
Since the start of the championship, the Corsicans have totaled three victories (Niort, Grenoble and Dijon), one draw (Nîmes) and four defeats (Laval, St Etienne, Amiens and Rodez).
In the lands of Fred Antonetti
FC Metz is traveling this Saturday to the land of its former coach, Fred Antonetti. The 60-year-old technician coached Sporting for several seasons, but he will not attend this Ligue 2 meeting.
The last meeting between Messins and Bastiais dates back to March 2017 and the club at the Croix de Lorraine won one to zero.
In Corsica, the Garnets have hardly shone, with only nine victories, the last dating back to March 2009 (1-2).
