After the arrival of Xavi as a coach, Barça continues the repatriation of the glorious former. This Friday, November 12, it is the Brazilian defender Dani Alves who signs his return to Catalonia. In a statement, the club explains the player will be present at training from next week, but that he will not be able to play until next January.
Arrived in Barcelona in 2008 after five seasons at Sevilla FC, Dani Alves wrote one of the most beautiful pages in the history of the club. In eight years with the Blaugrana, he participated in 391 games, scoring 23 goals.
After his departure from Barça in 2016, he joined Juventus, then Paris-Saint-Germain before returning to his country of origin and the club of Sao Paulo. With 43 titles gleaned over the course of his career, the most recent being a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, Dani Alves is the most successful player in football history.
Barça, taken by the throat by serious financial problems, is only 9th in the Spanish Championship. His poor performance led to the dismissal of Dutch coach Ronald Koeman and the arrival in his place of Xavi, icon of the club. While this return to the country looked like the end of his career, the whimsical defender offered himself a final challenge to Barça.
